Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Openbeta Limited (“we”, “us”) and apply to your use of the Bendle app and website (“Bendle”). By creating an account, continuing as a Guest or using Bendle, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Bendle.

1. Ride safely — Bendle is not a navigation app

Riding a motorcycle is dangerous. You are solely responsible for how you ride and for obeying traffic laws, speed limits and road signs.
  • Never use or look at your phone while riding. Start a recording before you set off, and stop it once you have parked safely.
  • Bendle does not give directions or routing, and it is not a substitute for proper navigation, local knowledge or your own judgement.
  • Road information, ratings, Great Roads, Collections and weather can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Roads can be closed, damaged, private or unsuitable for your motorcycle, your experience or the conditions. Always check before you ride.
  • Bendle never encourages speeding or competing on public roads, and you must not use it that way.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use Bendle.
  • You can use Bendle as a Guest. Guest data is tied to the app on your device: if you delete the app or lose your device before creating an account (with Apple, Google or email), you may not be able to get that data back.
  • Keep access to your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion is permanent.

3. Your content

You own your rides, photos, notes and other content you add to Bendle (“your content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display your content only as needed to provide Bendle to you. That includes creating the share images you ask for.

When you rate a road, you also allow us to include your rating, anonymously, in community statistics for that road. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. Ratings are then removed from the statistics.

Make sure you have the right to upload the content you add. For example, only upload photos you took yourself or are allowed to use.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use Bendle to plan or record illegal activity, such as racing on public roads;
  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, or that reveals private information about others;
  • submit fake rides or ratings, or try to manipulate road ratings or progress;
  • interfere with Bendle, probe or bypass its security, scrape it, or overload it; or
  • reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

5. Bendle Pro subscriptions

  • Bendle Pro is an optional, auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Bendle account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer law.
  • Core features stay free: recording, ride history, your Atlas, GPX import and export, privacy controls and starter Collections. We may change what Pro includes. We will not remove a paid feature during a period you have already paid for.
  • Purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

6. Map data and third-party services

Bendle shows maps and road data from third parties, including OpenStreetMap contributors (available under the Open Database License) and our map tile provider. Bendle also relies on services such as Apple, Google, Supabase and RevenueCat. Their own terms may apply when you use them. Attribution for map data is available from the ⓘ button on every map and in the app’s open-source licences screen.

7. Our intellectual property

The Bendle app, brand, design and curated content (such as Great Roads and Collections) belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using Bendle as intended.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Bendle reliable. However, it is provided “as is” and “as available”, and may sometimes be unavailable, changed or discontinued. Recordings are saved on your device first and upload when you are online. Even so, we cannot guarantee that GPS, your device or networks will always work. We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Bendle after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from how you ride, from road or weather conditions, or from relying on information shown in Bendle. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you could have kept by exporting it. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £50.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Bendle and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop providing Bendle. Where reasonable, we will give you notice, so you have time to export your rides.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer laws and may bring claims in your local courts.
